Helping farmers get more out of their land today… and tomorrow
Bridgestone, the world’s largest tyre and rubber manufacturer, has expanded its range of high-performance, premium agricultural tyres with the launch of the all-new VT-COMBINE tyre. Designed specifically for Cyclic Field Operations (CFO), with Improved Flexion (IF), VT-COMBINE offers 20% more load compared with conventional standard tyres (ETRTO standards). This innovative new tyre gives farmers additional speed during CFO, 15 km/h instead of the 10km/h for conventional tyres, resulting in efficient use of time during the most critical period of the farming cycle. With its high load capacities, excellent traction thanks to the new patented involute lug design, durability, comfort and lower soil compaction, the VT-COMBINE helps farmers boost their productivity while protecting their most valuable resource: their fertile topsoil.
Mark Sanders, General Manager Agricultural/Original Equipment and Replacement at Bridgestone Europe, said: “During harvest, farmers and agricultural contractors are under the greatest pressure to get things done quickly and efficiently. This is why we are excited about the launch of this revolutionary harvester tyre. Trial versions of VT-COMBINE have been tested on three continents for three full seasons with an overwhelmingly positive response. By allowing high payloads at lower inflation pressure and with a larger tyre footprint, in line with the strict IF CFO standard, the Bridgestone VT-COMBINE enables farmers to minimise soil compaction across a wide range of harvesting conditions. This will secure high yields through future cropping cycles.”
High load capacity
The new Bridgestone VT-COMBINE tyre has been developed specifically to meet the challenges of today, delivering excellent stability and traction even on steep sloping terrain.3 Thanks to the IF technology, VT-COMBINE can be used at lower inflation pressures, offering farmers a load bonus of up to 55% (IF CFO standard).,
Employing the most advanced materials, patterns and construction techniques, designed and developed at Bridgestone’s European Technical Centre, VT-COMBINE tyres are built to go the distance. The reinforced casing construction, highly flexible sidewall and patented robust S-LINE profile bead all contribute to delivering the outstanding durability needed to keep on performing under high and constantly changing payloads. Moreover, the tyre’s 6-tread plies construction eliminates the need for a steel belt, ensuring excellent impact absorption, good puncture resistance and easy repair.
The VT-COMBINE’s stable and reliable traction on a variety of surfaces makes harvesting easier,1 even in difficult terrain and weather conditions. Its patented new involute lug design minimises soil disturbance and provides good traction. This means the Bridgestone VT-COMBINE is as much at home on uneven surfaces as it is on inclined plains or in wet conditions.
Low soil compaction
Increasing productivity today only makes sense if it preserves yields for tomorrow. VT-COMBINE has been designed to maximise its footprint size under low inflation in order to minimise soil disturbance and protect soil fertility for future seasons.
Comfort and versatility
The innovative tread pattern and casing designs of the Bridgestone VT-COMBINE range are optimised for driver comfort and safety on a wide variety of harvester types. The tyre’s flexible sidewall, for instance, absorbs shocks while its longer lug bars ensure a smooth ride, even on the road, without excessive vibration or noise disturbance.
Designed for combine harvesters, the VT-COMBINE is also well suited to a variety of other types of harvesting machinery, including forage harvesters, potato and sugar beet harvesters and is currently available in 11 sizes.
Soil Care by Bridgestone
With its “improved flexion” (IF) construction and advanced tread design, VT-COMBINE is the latest premium agricultural tyre developed according to Bridgestone’s Soil Care principle. Aiming to strike the right balance between boosting farming efficiency and protecting the environment, the “Soil Care by Bridgestone” label is synonymous with tyres that help farmers boost productivity in a sustainable fashion.
Bridgestone: a world leader in agricultural tyres
Bridgestone has been at the forefront of quality and innovation in agricultural tyres for decades. Firstly through its legendary Firestone brand with a strong presence in European agriculture and now with the launch of a new range of premium Bridgestone tyres. The launch of VT-COMBINE for combine harvesters follows the flagship VT-TRACTOR tractor tyre launched in 2014. Bridgestone is a trusted and reliable partner for farmers and agricultural contractors alike, and helping them to get more from nature both today… and tomorrow.
